Why am I doing this?
I’ve spoken to many people in their late 30s or 40s who are wrestling with a career dilemma. They’ve studied. They’ve got experience. They’ve had success. They’ve failed too. They’ve learned. They’ve got grit. They’ve got ambition.
The issue is that they don’t fit with what they’re currently doing. They’ve outgrown it. The role has changed. They’re misaligned with their company.
They know they need a change but they don’t know how to navigate it.
Friends and contacts connect these folks to me because I was there myself and I came through the other side and landed my ideal role.
It didn’t just happen by accident. I defined a clear process and I followed it rigorously.
Recently I’ve gotten to share that process with a few people that were in the same position I was. Just this week one of those people said to me, “Josh, you made a huge impact on me and you don’t even know it. I only did 1/4 of what you recommended to me and I saw immediate progress. I landed my job 3 weeks later.”
After some strong encouragement and prodding, I’ve decided to explore this space more deeply. I’ve loved sharing what I’ve learned. I’ve really loved seeing those I’ve helped land awesome roles. I’m not sure where this will lead but I’d love it to lead to a company one day where I can do more and more of this.
